RIGHT VENTRICULAR STENOSIS (BERNHEIM'S SYNDROME)

Abstract
Bulging of the interventricular septum into the cavity of the right ventricle in sufficient degree to cause trouble may be found in patients with hypertension or aortic stenosis. Symptoms are transient at first and suggest right heart failure. Pulmonary circulation is normal and orthopnoea never appears At autopsy confirmation is made by (a) state of the lungs and (b) transverse section of the ventricles. There are said to be no characteristic ecg. changes. Early in the course, dilatation of the outflow area (conus) may compensate.
