Abstract
Relevelling surveys (Boyes, 1970) following the Inangahua earthquake of 24 May 1968 NZST have shown a regional uplift, with a maximum of 2.7 m near Inangahua, The gravity change (Δg) which would be expected to accompany this uplift is detectable using a gravity meter, and from the difference in the value of gravity before and after the earthquake it is possible to determine if mass changes have occurred. Keywords
