Abstract
The shift and broadening of several phonon modes in KCl and RbCl have been measured as a function of temperature from 10 to 400°K by means of first-order Raman spectra induced by impurities. Mode Grüneisen parameters are computed for the major phonon frequencies which contribute to the Raman spectra. These dominant phonons lie near the zone boundary.
