Abstract
Suicides in the psychiatric clinic Beverin. A contribution to the discussion of the increasing suicides of psychiatric in-patients. In the psychiatric clinic Beverin GR suicides have significantly increased within the past two decades in comparison with all hospital discharges and with the suicide rates in the general population of the canton the clinic is situated in (Graubünden). The causes considered here are the changes in the hospital management resulting in a more liberal treatment, which may have put too great a stress upon a number of patients. In some cases of depressive psychosis the use of activating antidepressive drugs was related to suicide. Rehabilitative situations should not be created at the expense of a feeling of security, especially for patients suffering from psychotic disorders. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
