Abstract
The method for testing germicides, employed in the U. S. Dept. of Agric., is not applicable to preparations with high bacteriostatic power, unless modified by addition of sub-transfers, and there is no reason to believe that the Rideal-Walker and Hygienic Lab. methods would give more accurate results. HgCl2 fails to kill Micrococcus aureus at 20[degree]C. in dilutions of 1-200 to 1-300, in 15 minutes; in 1-500 dilution it appears to kill in 5 min. by the unmodified method. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
