Abstract
We report measurements of the thermal conductivity of hexagonal close-packed -Ar solid alloys. The measurements include the temperature and concentration regime known as the quadrupolar glass phase. The thermal conductivity is comparable in magnitude to that of vitreous silica and, like other glasses, has a ‘‘plateau.’’ However, the low-temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity is greater than .
