Abstract
Bounds for neutral currents are derived for the inclusive pion production on isoscalar nuclei in the simple Weinberg and the Glashow-Iliopoulos-Maiani models. The bounds involve cross sections induced by neutrinos, antineutrinos, or combination thereof. Final-state interactions are included in the results. For isolated proton targets a bound is obtained in both models independent of any additional assumptions. All the quantities occurring in the bounds are in principle measurable. For those processes where data are not yet available, estimates are presented by allowing a wide range of variation for the unknown quantities. Keywords
