Abstract
One impact that mankind has inflicted on the environment has been an increase in the amount of greenhouse gases present in the atmosphere. A likely result of this is an increase in average global temperature and rise in sea level. In order to monitor this rise over the coming decades, an international programme of geodetic measurements using VLBI and GPS is being carried out on a global scale. This paper reviews the current status and methodology for absolute sea level monitoring. Keywords
