In Situ Imaging of Electrochemical Deposition of Ag on Au(111)

Abstract
Under potentiostatic control, we imaged the electrochemical deposition of Ag onto an Au(111) surface with scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). As a result, at the initial stage of Ag deposition, we observed homogeneous growth of small Ag islands 50∼80 Å in diameter and 4.5∼7.0 Å in height (2∼3 atomic height).Keywords
