Abstract
Introducing a microcomputer into a general practice provides an opportunity to consider how different population groups use the services offered. In a study of the effect that distance has on consultation rates the results showed that patients who lived close to the surgery consulted a third more than those who lived over two and a half miles from the surgery. Further analysis showed that patients who might be expected to have transport difficulties were particularly low users. Keywords
