Abstract
A high pressure liquid chromatographic assay for promethazine in human plasma using electrochemical detection is described. The method was reliable and efficient when applied to a bioavailability study involving about 1000 plasma samples. Using 1 ml aliquots, the lowest detectable concentration was 1 ng/ml. The analysis time averaged about 15 min/sample. Systemic availability is evidently better following i.m. administration of promethazine as compared to the rectal and oral routes. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
