Abstract
The antisterility activity of α-tocohydroquinone in vitamin E-deficient female rats has been re-examined. For this purpose, the hydroquinone was prepared daily by the catalytic hydrogenation of α-tocoquinone which was free of α-tocopherol. When injected at a level of 5 mg daily, the α-tocohydroquinone exhibited antisterility activity. Smaller doses cured the muscle lesions in the mother but did not prevent fetal death and resorption. Keywords
