Abstract
The reaction of PSCl3, with alkylmagnesium halides has been studied. In the case of methyl‐, ethyl‐, propyl‐, butyl‐ and isobutyl‐magnesium halides compounds with formula (R2PS)2, were formed. Their infrared spectra were recorded from 400 cm−1 to 3000 cm−1. From these spectra it was concluded that bi(dialkylphosphinothioyl) compounds were formed. In most cases a number of by‐products were isolated and some of these were identified. Keywords
