Abstract
Cross‐field diffusion of a plasma in a model toroidal magnetic field has been studied numerically. The result in a system with toroidal symmetry shows three distinct regimes of diffusion with respect to the collision frequency as predicted by theory. When a weak nonsymmetry is introduced in the model adding a small ripple on the toroidal field, the enhanced diffusion due to superbanana flux is observed in the region of low collision frequencies in agreement with theoretical prediction. Keywords
