Abstract
✓ Five patients having atlanto-axial dislocation due to an os odontoideum or odontoid agenesis are presented. Two were operated on successfully with preliminary realignment of the dislocation by skeletal traction and subsequent occipitocervical fixation with wiring and acrylic plastic. In one case, the usual two-step procedure of anterior fixation and suboccipital decompression was satisfactorily combined into one procedure. Keywords
