Abstract
A Japanese pedigree of congenital nystagmus compatible with an X-linked irregular dominant transmission is described. An absence of male-to-male transmission, and skipping of a generation were noted. Genetic counseling for congenital nystagmus is difficult because of the irregular pattern of inheritance. Keywords
