Abstract
The three‐body ion—ion recombination rate is studied at low density, using the Monte Carlo calculational method. Good agreement with experiment is obtained using Brueckner's recently proposed model which includes the effect of ``dissociative collisions.'' Agreement of earlier theory with experiment is shown to be largely fortuitous.Keywords
