Abstract
The total absorptance of the ozone (O3) 9.6-μm band has been measured at room temperature. The amount of ozone is from 0.0188 to 0.5 atm cm and the pressure range is from 17 to 760 mm Hg. In the experiment a cross-shaped absorption cell containing ozone is used; the ultraviolet is recorded through one arm of the absorption cell to determine the amount of ozone; the infrared spectrum is recorded through the other arm to determine the total absorptance of ozone in the cell. The experimental data have been analyzed and processed according to the theory of the absorption spectrum model. The result of the experiment shows that the experimental data are consistent with the statistical model. Finally, the band parameters applied to the statistical model are given.
