Abstract
Pantothenic acid (PA) deficiency in rats results in decreases in coenzyme Q (CoQ) and succinoxidase activity of liver. Administration of PA to deficient rats restores these enzymes to normal in 24 hours. Deficient animals show decreased incorporation of labeled acetate and mevalonate into liver CoQ, indicating a decreased synthesis of CoQ in PA deficiency. Keywords
