Abstract
A survey of the attitudes toward aging held by therapists in a psychiatric clinic elicited generally positive responses. The therapists did, however, ascribe to the stereotype that “old people usually don't talk much.” The implications of this prejudice in psychiatric treatment and in the therapeutic relationship are discussed.Keywords
