Abstract
Two topics are discussed in order to illustrate the author's own enjoyment of fluid mechanics. The first and longer discourse is about splashes. It makes no attempt at completeness but includes a little new research. The second part deals briefly with many variations on the theme of flow in pipes. Keywords
