Abstract
The synthesis and the absorption and fluorescence spectra of 2, 5-dimethoxy-1, 4-distyryl-benzene derivatives and the related compounds are reported on. Their absorption and their fluorescence spectra, are then discussed. According to the spectra, some of the compounds synthesized here are better wavelength shifters in plastic scintillators that the compounds described in the literature. Keywords
