Improved binary frame synchronisation scheme for packet transmission

Abstract
A new frame synchronisation method is presented, which is suited for packet transmission where the sync pattern is preceded by a periodic preamble. The improvement of the new method can be up to 3dB, when compared with the best conventional scheme.
