The School Consultant As Advocate

Abstract
This paper seeks to underscore the important relationship of advocacy to consultation and to present training strategies for increasing students' awareness of the relationship. Some background information related to the topic is presented, followed by a series of discussions concerning skills, philosophies and goals in training. It is hoped that this paper may be helpful to trainers of consultants in examining their own training endeavours, especially as their strategies relate to consultant values.
