Group Facilitation Skills for Managers

Abstract
Increasingly, managers are required to work in groups, and overall managerial effectiveness increasingly depends on an individual's ability to facilitate group work. This article offers an introduction to group facilitation skills for managers. It describes a framework which will help managers to recognise group process problems, to diagnose the underlying causes of the most common group problems, and, most importantly, to consider how they might act to help a group get past its problems and work productively.
