Abstract
It is shown that a dynamical (i.e., frequency-dependent) collision broadening is necessary to explain the observed spectra of induced absorption in CuCl, which exhibit remarkable exponential absorption wings. The calculated analytical collision broadening allows us to determine the time development of the distribution of optically generated excitonic quasiparticles from transmission spectra, measured in time-resolved pump-and-probe experiments. Keywords
