Abstract
Four patients with pityriasis rubra pilaris were treated with the oral form of folic acid antagonists (aminopterin and metho-trexate) for an average duration of 12 months. Marked clinical improvement was noted in all four patients. Two patients have discontin ued therapy for periods of 24 and 7 months and have not had a recurrence of their disease. The pharmacology of f olic acid antagonists and the rationale for their use in the treatment of pityriasis rubra oilaris are briefly discussed. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
