Abstract
The CuO–P2O5 system up to 50 moles % CuO shows compound formation at the ortho-, pyro-, and meta-phosphate compositions, while the Cu2O–P2O5 systems shows only metaphosphate formation up to 33 moles % P2O5. The thermal behaviour of these systems has been studied in oxygen, air, and argon. The copper(II) compounds are unstable under all conditions studied, but the copper(I) compound melts congruently in argon at 1245°. X-Ray diffraction data are given. Keywords
