Abstract
Quantification of fluorescently labeled DNA in a two dimensional array provides biologists with a powerful new tool and optical engineers with a new design challenge. An objective lens for a scanning macroscopic system for this application is critically dependent on field uniformity, color correction and collection efficiency. The design of a fluorescent macro scanning objective is compared with classic designs and optimization of a unique design is discussed and tested. Keywords
