Abstract
In late 1984 and early 1985, the American Medical Record Association provided technical assistance on coding issues and record review for the Office of the Inspector General, US Department of Health and Human Services. This inspection was undertaken to determine whether certain DRGs are vulnerable to incorrect or manipulative coding. All DRGs were initially analyzed to determine the potential for erroneous payment. Three DRGs. 14, 88 and 82, were selected for review.
