Abstract
Exudative material injected into the normal circulating blood of a dog induces a rise in the blood sugar level. This effect can be duplicated only by the active euglobulin fraction of exudate, which in turn is or contains a toxic substance known as necrosin. The implications of these findings are discussed in terms of the role of inflammation in aggravating diabetes. Keywords
