Abstract
The terms ''productivity'' and ''yield'' should be retained to signify the rate of intake of food and the quantity accumulated by particular organisms or food groups, but they should be excluded from the field of energy measurements. For this purpose a new term is required to replace what is here called ''activity''; and which shall be less discordant than ''energy productivity'' or ''energy throughput'' without at the same time offending the demands of priority and of common sense vocabulary. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
