Abstract
This article is based on material presented as part of a symposium on reproductive problems of dairy cattle. The need for a critical exptl. approach in the various scientific fields which have a bearing on the problem is stressed as is the need for more specific definitions. The necessity for developing adequate indices for reproductive efficiency is discussed. More physiological data on the reproductive processes of cattle is basic to future progress in this field. A list of problems needing investigation is included.
