Abstract
A three-dimensional X-ray crystal structure analysis has shown dimethylaminoboron difluoride to be dimeric, [(CH3)2NBF2]2. The molecule, which has symmetry mmm, consists of a 4-membered (BN)2 ring with substituents above and below the plane of the ring. The methyl groups are fully staggered with respect to the B–N–B framework.
