Abstract
Kigelianthe of Madagascar [Malagasy Republic] is not separable from Fernandoa of continental Africa; the history of the situation is briefly reviewed. With Kigelianthe in synonymy under Fernandoa, 3 new combinations are proposed: F. coccinea (Colea coccinea Scott Elliot = K. coccinea (Scott Elliot) H. Perr.), F. macrantha (C. macrantha Baker = K. macrantha (Baker) H. Perr.) and F. madagascariensis (Kigelia madagascariensis Baker = Kigelianthe grevei Baill. ex K. Schum. in Engl. and Prantl., nomen nudum = K. madagascariensis var. grevei Baill. ex H. Perr.). The other taxa in the genus, F. ferdinandi, F. adolfi-friderici and F. magnifica, are included with the first 3 in a key. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
