Abstract
The design and calibration of an electromagnetic leakage survey meter is discussed together with an analysis of the errors associated with nearfield power density measurements where the basic quantity measured is electric field intensity. The meter provides accurate measurements of microwave leakage at 915 MHz and 2450 MHz, over a range of 10μw/cm2 to 200 mw/cm2. Measurements are independent of polarization of the incident wave, ambient temperature and of infrared radiation.
