Abstract
A method was described for allowing the sampling of a hemogeneous population of polymorphonuclear cells (PMN) from the rat pleural cavity, as was a technique involving the use of a phase-contrast microscope and video-recording system to study the necrotaxis of rat PMN towards a single erythrocyte lysed by ruby-laser irradiation. This allowed the speed of the leukocytes and the degree of their chemotactic response to be determined. The advantages and disadvantages of the experimental technique and its application to the study of in vitro and in vivo actions of various drugs on rat PMN chemotaxis were discussed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
