Abstract
The Hammett reaction constant ρ has been measured for the addition reactions of NH2OH and SO−−3 ion to carbonyl compounds; the slopes of the best straigt lines of the log k, σ correlation fonctions are respectively: 0.32 and 1.12. These values are used to. draw conclusions concerning the structure of the transition state and its position along the reaction coordinate; they are consistent with a ‘reactant like’ transition state. Keywords
