Abstract
This paper is primarily an evaluation of the role of clinical psychology in the evaluation of clinical status in psychopathology. The author concludes that present methods of describing clinical status lack satisfactory reliability and validity. Relevant psychologic tests and methods are surveyed and suggestions for improvements and further research needed are made. 76 studies are reviewed.Keywords
