Abstract
Long-term results of an operation for upper urinary tract stones was investigated in 403 of 546 patients. Patients with false recurrence (12.5%) were excluded from study. Of the 403 patients, 167 had recurrence (> 40%) and a secondary operation was indicated in 107 of these (roughly 1 of every 4 patients undergoing the initial operation). The various factors associated with recurrence were studied. Management of urolithiasis is a complex problem and the need for teamwork by a urologist and a nephrologist in a stone or renal clinic is apparent. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
