Abstract
Statistical properties of a random amplifying medium near the lasing threshold are considered. We show that the transmission fluctuations grow faster than the average transmission. This is related to the fluctuations of the threshold amplification value. We find that the spectrum of lasing states possesses the kind of rigidity that so far is known only for the chaotic Hamiltonian systems. Keywords
