Abstract
The polarization and differential cross section for the scattering of neutrons by have been measured for MeV. Both and are simultaneously fitted reasonably well by -matrix parameters for broad states in with assignments () and () at excitation energies MeV, respectively. The level has not previously been observed, while the level has previously been assigned to be . These results, together with a previous assignment for a state at MeV, give experimental evidence for proton-hole-neutron-particle shell-model configurations and in . Shell-model calculations were made with -function residual interactions and include configuration mixing of the resulting states. Work on states in has been compared with the present work.
