Abstract
Superconducting and magnetic properties are investigated for Ba2LnCu3Oy (Ln=y, Eu, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm and Yb). All these compounds exhibit a bulk superconductivity of 90 K range in spite of the fact that these compounds contain lanthanide atoms. From the magnetic susceptibility measurements, it is found that lanthanide atoms exist as almost free Ln3+ ions and that the interaction between Ln3+ ions is weak. These facts can be interpreted in terms of recently established crystal strycture. Keywords
