Abstract
This device employs a well shielded magnetic field to separate electrons from negative ions, and is used in electron-molecule collision experiments in conjunction with an electrostatic energy analyser. It enables the weak current of negative-ion fragments originating from dissociation processes to be distinguished from the large signal caused by scattered electrons. Keywords
