Abstract
Log autumn sizes plotted against spring sizes of 63 healthy and 90 colonies with Nosema disease gave regression lines of the same slope. The diseased colonies, however, lost 1750 more bees than the healthy ones, irrespective of initial colony size. Optimum wintering sizes were established (15,000 bees in Sept. for healthy, 19,000 for Nosema colonies), larger as well as smaller colonies suffering significantly higher percentage winter losses. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
