Abstract
Plasma beta-endorphin was measured in patients undergoing a stressful procedure, the removal of impacted third molars. In patients reporting little pain, endorphin levels increased significantly during surgery, whereas patients reporting pain and anxiety showed little increase in endorphin levels.Keywords
