Abstract
In spite of the contributions that have appeared from time to time concerning mesenteric tumors and the interest manifested in certain reported cases, there is good reason to believe that these growths have been neglected and that they have not received the systematic attention to which their importance entitles them. That they are comparatively uncommon is admitted; but this would seem to supply a stronger reason for their careful study. When one has to depend on text-books or even on readily available periodic literature, one must encounter serious difficulty in the management of such cases. Under the clearest conditions, they require judgment and, above all, experience which may be gained at the cost of stumbling on them unawares.
