Abstract
Leptognathia dentifera was first described from Oslofjorden in 1899 by G. O. Sars. His localities are “Christiania Fjord at Hankö and Soon from depths of 60-100 fathoms”. Sars also said that he had only seen a few specimens. The collections of the Zoological Museum, Oslo, include one sample labelled “Chris-tianiafjord, G. O. Sars” which is probably the one mentioned by Sars, though Hankö and Soon (Son) are not mentioned. The sample contains 10 specimens, one of which is ovigerous with tv/o eggs in the marsupium. The species has been found in Skagerak 53 nautical miles north of Hanstholm, at a depth of 526 m (Stephensen, 1948). These are the only records that I have been able to find in the literature. The Tromsö Museum has one sample from 66° 24' N, 13° 36' E, Hemnesberget, Ranafjorden, 60-220 m, Aug. 1955, The museums in Bergen and Trondheim have no samples. Keywords
