Abstract
This paper gives a history of the development of slime-control chlorination processes and equipment as applied to condenser cooling water. Present-day methods of attacking the problem of slime control are explained from engineering, chemical, biological, and economic aspects, and in a hypothetical case there is developed a formula based on average operating results which serves as a basis upon which to determine to what extent a proposed installation will be justified.
