Abstract
Heparin has been shown to possess marked antianaphylactic activity in the rabbit, but not in the rat, the guinea pig or the dog. The mechanism of this action was studied and shown to be related chiefly to its anticoagulant action. Ethyl biscoumacetate has a protective action which is, however, weaker than that of heparin. The significance of these findings have been discussed. Keywords
